Am I allowed to bring my service animal abroad?
Our study abroad programs may allow service animals on a case-by-case basis, provided that the service animal has the appropriate documentation. If you plan to bring a service animal, you must:
- Have a service animal who is certified by one of the two internationally-recognized agencies: Assistance Dogs International or International Guide Dog Federation.
- Provide the above certification paperwork to your program enrollment coordinator as early as possible.
- Investigate the customs and entry requirements for service animals in the country you will be studying abroad in, as regulations may vary by destination.
- Ensure that all necessary arrangements and documentation are in order for your service animal to legally enter and reside in your host country.
