Am I allowed to bring my service animal abroad?

Our study abroad programs may allow service animals on a case-by-case basis, provided that the service animal has the appropriate documentation. If you plan to bring a service animal, you must:
  • Have a service animal who is certified by one of the two internationally-recognized agencies: Assistance Dogs International or International Guide Dog Federation.
  • Provide the above certification paperwork to your program enrollment coordinator as early as possible.
  • Investigate the customs and entry requirements for service animals in the country you will be studying abroad in, as regulations may vary by destination.
  • Ensure that all necessary arrangements and documentation are in order for your service animal to legally enter and reside in your host country.
Please consult with your program enrollment coordinator for further assistance or questions related to service animals and studying abroad.
