Can I bring my kid(s) with me while I study abroad?

We do not advise bringing your children / dependents with you, as it is not our expertise, and our programs have various restrictions for students only. We do, however, hope they can visit! Here is why we discourage our participants from bringing dependents:

Housing & CIS excursions/activities eligibility:
We can’t accommodate dependents in our housing or on our CIS excursions/activities. This is due to safety and liability reasons. Thanks for understanding.

Medical & Accident insurance:
Our medical and accident insurance does not cover non-program participants, including spouses and children.

Emergency Support:
If you were to become ill, hospitalized or otherwise incapacitated our staff is not equipped to be able to care for family members of participants.

Visa requirements:
We can’t advise on visas for family members. The host country might have specific visa regulations for dependents, so additional research may be required regarding the necessary paperwork and application process.

Childcare options:
We can’t advise on childcare options when you are working at an internship or in class.

Financial implications:
Bringing children increases the overall study abroad cost due to additional travel, housing, and living expenses.

We suggest that your family visits you during a break or that you extend your time (visa allowing , of course!) after your study abroad experience.
