What is the one tip you would advise a parent or guardian whose child is studying abroad?
We have found that the most successful students abroad are those who take the initiative to work with CIS Abroad. We would advise that you encourage your student to work directly with CIS Abroad, rather than let you, their parent or guardian, call and ask questions on their behalf. This helps our team get to know your student, connect with them, build trust, and address their individual needs and excitement for this experience. While we certainly understand you will have your own questions and seek information that only a parent or family member would want to know (and we welcome that), we ask for your support in helping your student be fully involved in the process of going abroad. Once they get to their destination, they will ultimately be the one responsible, and working toward that independence during the application process is an important first step!
