How are host families screened or vetted?

Our process for vetting host families in program locations where homestays are an option includes background checks, personal interviews, site visits, and reference checks, all conducted by our partner university on the ground and/or our onsite staff. We work with long-standing host families who are very experienced and have all hosted many of our students. The host families act as an additional layer of support for our students and are in contact with our local Site Directors as needed.
