Generally, to participate on a CIS Abroad program, the following must describe you: You will be at least 18 years of age or older at the start of the program and you already hold a passport or are able to obtain a passport prior to international travel.
The following are common requirements for some programs, but not all. Check out our program specific pages to see if the follow is required for your participation: Current enrollment in a college or university within the USA or Canada, at least one semester of higher education completed, and often you must hold at least a 2.5 out of 4.0 GPA.
As part of our application process, you may also be required to submit additional application pieces such as:
- A personal statement
- Copy of your most recent transcripts
- The approval of a home university advisor
- A reference from an academic contact such as a professor or academic advisor who knows you well.
